AMAM + CWAL = Art Lens
April 02, 2026
The Allen Memorial Museum of Art (AMAM) and the Clarence Ward Art Library (CWAL) are introducing a new program called Art Lens, in which participants will interpret art through selected texts. A new take on a short-form book club, this month we are reading Walter Benjamin's 1935 essay "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction."
Meet at AMAM on Thursday, April 9th at 4:00 p.m. for a group discussion on artworks selected by the curators to engage concepts presented by Benjamin in his essay. Afterwards, we will go upstairs to the Art Library for some light refreshments and more conversation.
