OhioLink Service Disruption
February 28, 2022
UPDATED 4/18/22
OhioLink book delivery will be suspended March 11. Use InterLibrary Loan for book requests during that time.
OhioLINK made a change last summer in the courier company that delivers materials between libraries all around the state. Unfortunately, the new company has proven unable to meet the demands of this vital and well-used service, which includes 350 public libraries and 117 academic libraries. It has been decided to return to the previous courier as soon as possible, despite the fact that schools are in session.
To the extent possible, please plan ahead and make requests in the OhioLINK Central Catalog before March 10th.
On March 11, the request function in the OhioLINK Central Catalog will be turned off. This is necessary to avoid a backlog of materials in the system.
You may request books, or scans of chapters from books, using our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service. Library staff can help with finding information about chapter titles and page numbers (sometimes available in OBIS, the OhioLINK Central Catalog, Amazon, etc.). Let us know if you have any questions about how to make ILL requests.
We await word on when service will resume with the new courier. While there will be delays during the transition period, we believe this will bring a positive resolution to what has been a frustrating situation.
We appreciate your patience and will do all that we can to fulfill your library research needs.
