Services & Amenities
Terrell Main Special Collections are accessible to all patrons in the Goodrich Reading Room and Forsythe Classroom located on the West side of the 4th floor of the Mudd Center.
Patrons are encouraged to email Special Collections at scollect@oberlin.edu ahead of a visit to make an appointment and request items.
Faculty interesting in using Special Collections materials in their classes and hosting classes in the Forsythe classroom can also email scollect@oberlin.edu.
Our Goodrich Reading Room is wheelchair accessible and staff are available to assist patrons who require any kind of help during our open hours, including searching our holdings.
Our seating is height adjustable and of high quality, conducive to long hours of sitting. We can also accommodate patrons who require more intense reading lights or measuring or magnification equipment.
For equipment, the reading room offers a small overhead scanner for books and documents with OCR (optical character recognition) capability. Documents can be emailed or saved to the cloud or a USB drive. Our reading room is equipped with a sink for hand washing; lockers, a coat rack, and restrooms are located just outside in the corridor.
