Overview

From February 18, 2026, through March 13, 2026, the Africana Studies Department and Terrell Main Library will celebrate Toni Morrison's life, literature, and legacy with a display of her literary works and more. Toni Morrison is a native of Lorain, Ohio, and the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. This exhibit will take place in conjunction with a statewide celebration of Toni Morrison, designed and led by Literary Cleveland in partnership with Ohio Humanities, the Ohioana Library Association, and the Toni Morrison Society.
