About the Collection
The Archives Museum Collection serves as a catalogue of artworks, miscellaneous framed items, costume pieces, sculpture, and other objects related to the College’s history and held by the Oberlin College Archives.
Materials in this collection are frequently used in Archives exhibits on Oberlin history themes, such as the semi-permanent exhibit of objects installed in the reading room. A number of the most significant paintings, drawings, and prints in this collection have been treated by a conservator as part of the Archives’ preservation program.
The items in this collection are primarily those that are not associated with larger institutional or personal collections in the Archives, many of which also hold objects and other non-textural materials.
