Artists' Books Show-and-Tell: GHOSTS
October 02, 2025
Peruse a unique selection of artists' books (yes—books created by artists!) at the Clarence Ward Art Library, curated by the Art Librarian Eugénie Fortier, to discover how visual artists have explored a certain subject while reinterpreting the format and significance of the traditional bound publication.
On October 7th, 2025, from 1:30–3:30 p.m., come ghost hunting through the pages with us. Explore how artists relate absence and presence through your interaction with their artists' books. Reflect on what haunts us—metaphorically, supernaturally, or historically—as well as how the materials, visual effects, and formats of the artists' book help convey their creators' own views, perspectives, and critiques.
Come visit the Art Library at the Venturi '75 Building (next to the Allen Memorial Museum of Art) to browse through some relevant picks from our collections with the assistance of the Art Librarian. Also keep an eye on our socials to see a short recap of the session!
