Food and Drink

To protect the collection, maintain a clean facility, and be respectful of others, eating food is not permitted in the library. The adjacent Perlik Commons is a good location for meals. Under no circumstances should food waste be left in the library. All beverages must be in a covered container, away from computers. 

Limit Conversation

The acoustics of the science library amplify conversation, to the distraction of many. Please keep it quiet, and silence your phone.

Group Study Rooms

These rooms are reservable for groups of individuals working together for academic purposes. They are not sound-proof; kindly be mindful of the people who are seated nearby.

Using the Book Returns

There are two book returns for the science library:

• Exterior - east wall of Science Center north building, in the breezeway across from Craig Auditorium ground floor entrance
• Interior - left of the library entrance, facing Perlik Commons

Do NOT return reserve materials or journals to a book return when the library is open! During open hours, return short-term loan items directly to a staff member.

Book returns are cleared only when opening and closing the library. Hourly fines are assessed for items that become overdue after being placed in a book return during the library's open hours.
