Where Have All The Flowers Gone?

Overview

Exploring the rich history of Folk Music at Oberlin College, this exhibit features three individuals in the development of the College's folk music scene. Joe Hickerson '57, Pete Seeger, and Ed Freeman (enrolled 1960-63). This exhibit has three components and venues - Joe Hickerson in the Terrell Library's 1st Floor Gallery, Pete Seeger in The Conservatory Library, and Ed Freeman in the College Archives. This exhibit runs from April 14 - June 16, 2023.

Pete Seeger's Rainbow Quest

Pete Seeger wrote and curated a 39-episode television program titled Rainbow Quest. Produced for one series run in 1965 and 1966 by the Advertisers Broadcasting Company for the New York City market, in the 36th episode, Seeger hosts musicians Mississippi John Hurt, Hedy West, and Paul Cadwell. To see photos of Mississippi John Hurt and other folk musicians taken by Ed Freeman, visit the Oberlin College Archives exhibit.
